Jordan Cristos Wins The WPT Legends of Poker
Unibet casino online review: The twelfth season of the World Poker Tour (WPT) has kicked off its stateside program with the WPT Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino, Bell Gardens, California; and it's Jordan Cristos who was sitting in front of the blocks of cash when the photographers flash burst for the final time.
669 players took part in a main event that spanned seven days, after a decision was made to create three starting flights with a re-entry clause. That level of interest created a total prize pool in excess of $2.4m, and a first prize of over $613,000.
The action got down and dirty when the three starting flights had passed. No more re-entries meaning no more second chances. It was do or die and one man far from ready to die was Dan Heimiller; the former World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, and WPT stalwart, ending Day Two as the chip leader with 71 players remaining.
That figure was condensed to just 15 at the end of a third day of action that saw Phil Laak start to shift into second gear. The WPT Champions Club member reminding everybody that he still has what it takes to play at the highest level in the world. Patrick Karschamroon held the chip lead as the likes of Joe Serock, Ali Eslami and Faraz Jaka fell by the wayside.
The final table of six was finalised by the end of Day Four, and it was Ryan Goindoo with a slight lead over Laak and Jordan Cristos. Laak would have a disappointing day finishing in fifth place for $109,385 and the final heads up encounter would fall between Cristos and Heimiller. The pair getting it in with the [Ah] [9h] of Cristos managing to over power the [Kh] [4h] of Heimiller to be crowned the champion.
